We were approached by a client who wanted a design to shorten the shift distance in his 1998 Mitsubishi Spyder. There are several after market shifters, however none of which offered shift stops. These stops will restrict to much gear engagement which could damage transmission or shifter assembly parts.
After the design was establish the first prototype was created, sample was then installed and evaluated. This assembly replaces the stock shifter and reduced the shift throw by 50%.
Once this prototype was finalized the client then wanted to make it available for Dodge Stealths, and 1993 to present for all Mitsubishi Sports Cars. These shifters are now in product and available for purchase.
The components are made os stainless steel, or mild steel, during the design process it was of importance to design a user friendly device and easy installation. We have design a great performance product, from start of project to production was 78 days. Before production started there were many models that were installed with the shifters for a 30 day field test and evaluations.
This is now the "35th" shifter, call for more information.
