This customer requested the restoration of his 185 Allis-Chalmers tractor to working condition. Mechanically this tractor was fine, however he wanted it to look as it did when he purchased it new in 1973. We first started with the steam cleaning operation then disassembly started. Each part was removed, tagged and labeled. We created a new wiring harness which was needed due to deterioration. Lights did not operate and hydraulic cylinders leaked. Other than the grill, the sheet metal was in decent condition. The tractor was completely disassembled. After 30 hours of metal prep, parts were sealed and primed. Stainless steel panels were added to the tractor during assembly. After assembly, new decals were put on and tractor delivered 6 weeks after starting this project.
